Not a Newsletter: Apr21 Edition

3 mins read

April started with a celebration of Fafa’s birthday. We had a Japanese breakfast. Then, we went to Kerri Greens in the arvo and back to Melbourne for a seafood feast at The Boiling Crab. Over the four-day weekend, I met baby James, who moved back from Perth and studied for my CPA exam.

I went to Lizzy Ho’s Hoo Dis? stand-up comedy show as a part of two weeks of the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Hai Di Lao

I introduced Fafa to Ayam Sambal Setan, which means devilish spicy fried chicken. We also ate at Citrus more times than I would like to admit. But I had the best meal of the month, probably the year so far, at HaiDiLao hot pot at The Glen.

Wait, that’s not true. Fafa got me Lobster Linguini from Baby when I was studying. That was the best meal I had this month.

Chibog West Footscray

Another memorable meal was at Chibog, a Filipino restaurant in West Footscray, which we had after viewing a house nearby.

Mt Macadon Airbnb

Speaking of which, we got the house!!!! And we went to Healsville to celebrate on the same day. Another highlight was a weekend stay with Liz at Mount Macedon.

This month, I read Haruki Murakami and pampered myself with a honey sleep-on mask, which I acquired during my Innisfree overhaul.

On a stressful workday morning, I stumbled upon this article: Cheer up! The happiness guru on how to feel better — managed to cheer me up.

I started reading The Roads to Sata, which reignited my dream of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Japan.
