We will be celebrating yet another new year in Japan, another Japanese New Year. It was a last-minute change in the travel plan. We were supposed to be in Hawaii for the New Year but being an Indonesian and a Mohammed made it almost impossible to get a visa; hence we cancelled our non-refundable flights with Kiwi Air (and got a full refund) and booked both flights to and accommodation in Japan with the refund money. And it’s all good because it’s Japan. It’s a fun alternative for us to dip our toes into our future home country.
