Recreating My Birthday in Healesville

2 mins read

Fafa took me to Healesville, a town in Victoria, recently to re-celebrate my birthday because we spent most of the actual day long-travelling, which wasn’t as fun as it made up to be.

We both love Healesville. The beautiful place has a special place in our hearts. We went straight to Healesville to celebrate after buying our house last year. And some years before that, we went there to celebrate belated Diwali.

We started with our tradition of having shakshuka in Tall Timber, in South Yarra. Sharing a plate of bacon and chorizo as usual.

On the way to Healesville, Fafa played all my favourite songs. Which in itself was a treat. A welcome break from listening to his “trendy” playlist.

The first thing we did in Healesville was to check out our favourite spiritual store in the region. I got a miniature Ganesha (the second Ganesha this month ━ I got a black Ganesha from Qi Cyrstal ━ , a favourite spiritual store in Melbourne city), a happiness essence drops and a healing Pheonix stone.

Then we went to a bookstore, where I got a book as a birthday gift for Izzie and another book as a birthday book for me.

We also spent something at this amazing spice shop called Gewürzhaus Spice House. I really loved this place, and I wanted to get everything there. The staffs also are helpful and very friendly. Who knows, one can find sanctuary in a spice house in Healesville?

We got some cooking spices, lavender salt and sleepy tea from there.

Our final stop in Healesville was the newly renovated Four Pillar Gin Dispensary for a bit of artisan gin and cheese plater.

On the way back, we stopped at the local nursery, where I got a pot of bougainvillea flowers.

It was a perfect recreation of my birthday.
