Birthday Celebration in Japan’s Tranquil Paradise

1 min read

It has truly been one of the best birthdays ever! I know I say this often, but really. I am in Japan. I soaked in an onsen, had rice for breakfast, visited one of the most iconic shrines in Japan, participated in a purification ritual (which felt good, considering the number of sins I had been carrying just by engaging in some light gossip), took a 4-hour train ride to Osaka, and had death-level spicy fried rice for dinner with a copious amount of umeshu.

Now, I’m relaxing in bed, indulging in almond Pocky, watching a Japanese cooking show, and eagerly waiting for Fafa to put face masks together.
