Hotel G Singapore

Live from Room 1605 Hotel G Singapore

2 mins read

Hello from room 1605 Hotel G Singapore. I am in Singapore for a brief-ish stopover. The initial plan includes hanging out with Amma, having crab dinner with our friends and another dinner, home cooked meal, at my cousin’s before flying back to Melbourne.

But I am sick, heavily medicated and have been in and out of sleep in the room while Fafa and Amma are doing their own things.

Alas, I am up now – bored, hungry and feeling a little better hence this post.

This is my third time staying in Hotel G Singapore. If you have read the blog long enough, you’d know I loathe travel repetition and refuse to stay in the same hotel twice.

So this stay warrants an explanation.

Hotel G Singapore

Hotel G Singapore is perfectly located within the golden triangle of my favourite Singapore neighbourhoods: Little India, Bugis and Chinatown.

It’s also reasonably priced (read: one of the few hotels in the city I like and can afford), which has always been one of the deciding factors. In addition, the check-in and out have always been seamless.

Special shout-out to the lady behind the check-in counter yesterday. After an extremely tiring day of travelling from India and nursing a high fever, I was this close to gratitude tears when she offered us an early check-in without additional cost.

May God bless your kind heart, Hotel G check-in counter lady!

The hotel has a bar downstairs that makes mean cocktails, but the room is the best part of the hotel, aside from the location. It’s practical yet pretty, making an excellent photo backdrop, especially when you are stuck inside like me.

The room is also spacious-ish, has a study table, overlooks the Singapore skyline and smells nice.

Finally, Hotel G Singapore brand water cartons, which is cool kind of cool, eh?

Rereading the above paragraphs, it reads like feverish rambles. Whatever! I have already written it, might as well hit the publish button.
