I went to Singapore for a couple of weeks in December and then to Japan for the New Year. At the end of January, I went to Bali (gotta use the jobless days effectively), right at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak. I also visited the Rain Room exhibition and explored Melbourne’s Jewish neighbourhood.
I am so grateful I get to ring in the new year in Tokyo. As you may already guess from the many posts about it in the blog, I am in love with Japan. On New Year’s Day, we had delicious sake and sushi from Sushimaki at Tsukuji Market. Drinking sake on New Year’s Eve is a well-ingrained Japanese tradition, and I felt lucky to experience it there.
Other cultural highlights include celebrating the Chinese New Year and visiting the sacred Pura Tirta Empul in Bali.

Thank you. I googled Pura Tirta Empul and it is so beautiful and spiritual. A water temple.
