I initially thought Pantjoran Chinatown PIK was a new mall in Jakarta, but it turned out to be a huge open-air compound filled with well-organised restaurants with a street-food vibe. I also initially thought, given the name, it would be dominated by Chinese food, but it actually offers all kinds of local cuisines – my kind of paradise.
I was there with Jik and my YouTuber cousin, who had come over for a meal at my place—before taking me out for, well, a few more meals. This is why I gain weight at lightning speed every time I’m back home.
“Remember, we’re here to icip-icip,” my YouTuber cousin reminded us. Icip-icip means to sample food—not to have a full meal—so you can eat more and try more. And we did exactly that. I tried to eat as much as I could. Told you, Jakarta visit = extra kilos.
Here are some of the best practices I had at Pantjoran Chinatown PIK.
