The last weeks of 2011 were filled with fabulous things – long vacations, gift-giving (I got Aunty a freshwater pearl necklace from Nge Ann and Nina Ricci’s new Apple perfume), layering clothes, eating food, and wearing glitter. It was glorious!

We went to Orchard again today and had Bali Thai for a late lunch. This place is climbing up our restaurant list.

I wish the same and more for making the most of 2012.

I spent a good hour at work today, pretending to calculate the imposed tax while brainstorming things I want to accomplish this new year.

Here’s to ending this year on a good note and setting a happy tone for the year ahead. Speaking of happiness, I recently reread Sonja Lyubomirsky’s The How of Happiness. This book changed my life.

I learned that I like shitake mushrooms.

Found and Love

The Tamil song Pirai Thedum Iravilae from Mayakkam Enna lives freely in the loop inside my head.

I got a bunch of uthupathi (incense) from my beloved Jothi Flower Shop in Little India.

Things on My Mind

I love the word ‘nightcap’—both its literal and slang meanings.

Meanwhile, on Kulture Kween:

This month, I wrote about my Christmas memories and 50 Cultural activities on Phi Phi Island.
